In the II UK Tango Competition there will be three different areas of competition: Tango Salon, Milonga and Tango Stage. Competitors will compete to pass from the classificatory rounds to the semi-finals and then finals. The classificatory rounds will take place on Saturday February 27th 2010 and the semi-finals and finals on Sunday February 28th 2010. There will be three judges of the competition, all of them professional Argentinean tango dancers with experience in international Argentine tango competitions.
Dancers do not need to be professionals to enter the competition, anyone can participate! If you are interested in competing please complete the registration form below. For further rules of the competition please download the competition rules (beside).
The competition rounds (classificatory, semi-finals and finals) will be held in The Great Hall, Discovery Museum, Newcastle upon Tyne (for photos of the venue click on the "Venues" tab) and will be open to spectators. There will also be a Tango Fair and live tango orchestras in The Great Hall during the competition rounds.
